White Chocolate Candy Corn Cookies Recipe
It was a random moment that led me to making these cookies. All I know is that I need to add pretzel pieces in there too because the mix of the three is just SO GOOD.
Check out these comments from readers!

These cookies really are quite tasty and a lot of fun for this time of year.
Will Candy Corn Melt in the Oven?
Yes, candy corn will most definitely melt in the oven. In fact, it can be quite messy when it does melt! It turns to liquid. I have since altered this recipe because the first time I made it I mixed the candy corn right into the dough. Let’s just say it didn’t go well with most of the people who tried the recipe.
Here are some of the comments after readers mixed the candy corn into the dough:
- Just made these cookies. I followed the directions exactly and they look nothing like the picture. Candy corn melt at high temps, no getting around that. They taste good, but I won’t make them again.
- The very same thing happened to me, but I didn’t want to admit it.
- Candy corn just melted to pan and ruined all the cookies. Probably better if you make dough put on pan and hand put candy corn on top of cookies and lower the temperature.
And that last comment is exactly how I changed the recipe! The recipe now states that the candy corn are added to the cookies immediately after being removed from the oven. This technique works so much better and it’s mess free! I sure appreciate all the reader feedback on this recipe.
What is the Flavor of Candy Corn?
Candy corn layers are marshmallow, vanilla, and a buttery caramel. Combined they make something that people really love or really hate. Haha
I love desserts with candy corn in the recipe. Here’s a list of some of my other favorite treat recipes that use candy corn!

These were actually one of my ideas when I was trying to come up with my round-up post, but my husband was convinced that the candy corn would melt away. 😛 Shows what he knows. They look delicious!

I have all the ingredients and I’m ready to make these, but I have a general question about baking cookies: Can I always put parchment paper on the cookie sheet, or does the recipe need to call for it? Thanks. By the way, I found your site through sixsistersstuff.

Just made these cookies. I followed the directions exactly and they look nothing like the picture. Candy corn melt at high temps, no getting around that. They taste good, but I won’t make them again. I advise to rethink making them and avoid disappointment.
Allison Miller says
Hi Michelle! I’m sorry that your cookies didn’t turn out. My first pan I had a melted candy corn mess all over because the exposed candy corn on the bottom of the dough balls got too hot. You can avoid that by making sure you can’t see any candy corn on the bottom of the dough ball when you put it on the pan. Also, some ovens vary with how hot they get on certain temperatures. Sometimes 375 is more like 400, for example. I’m sorry again that the cookies didn’t work for you!!
Jeanie Kenkel says
The very same thing happened to me but I didn’t want to admit it. 😛
Allison Miller says
I’m sorry Jeanie! Those candy corns can get a little crazy against a hot pan. If you try this recipe again, just make sure the dough is covering the candy corn on the bottom of the dough ball and you should be fine. I found this out the hard way, too!
Dawn says
How long do you refrigerate the dough for?
Allison Miller says
Hi Dawn! You can refrigerate the dough while your oven preheats, then put it back in the fridge during each baking time.

These are a perfect way to use up that leftover Halloween candy. Thanks!

worst recipe ever. candy corn just melted to pan and ruined all the cookies. probably better if you make dough put on pan and hand put candy corn on top of cookies and lower the temperature. but horrible just horrible just ruined a bunch of ingredients.
Allison Miller says
James, I’m so sorry the recipe didn’t work out for you! The cookies can be a mess if you don’t keep the candy corn off the hot pan, as explained in the directions. That candy corn can be tricky with heat!
Ashley Bogle says
I just made these today and they turned out great I didn’t mixed in the candy corn after reading several negative comments about them melting all over the place. I just put them in after taking them out of the oven. Three candy corns were enough. The cookies are sweet enough without extra candies. I was able to make 42 regular sized cookies… Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Allison Miller says
Good to know! Thanks for the comment, Ashley! I’m glad you enjoyed the cookies.
Morgan Lachman says
I bake on a Sil-Eco mat and NOTHING sticks to it. When I made these it was super easy to get the cookies off the rubber mat even though the melted candy corn was runny.
Alli says
That is awesome, Morgan! Thanks so much for sharing!
